Re-imagine: What Possibilities!

Tired, fatigued, feeling like you can’t keep up with the demands of your event, or feeling like you just  want to throw in the proverbial towel? A change in mindset just may do the trick. Think about the times  when you’ve experienced great success, or why you got started as an event organizer. I’m sure it brings  back feelings of great elation, as well as thoughts like “What in the world was I thinking?” Do not lose  hope, but rather challenge your current mindset and be willing to open your mind to what opportunities lie  ahead.

After years of the same old same old, let’s face it, you need a spark, a reason to re-imagine what could be  for you and your event now that you have a well oiled machine or a machine that needs a tune-up.  Maybe you just inherited an event and you are completely overwhelmed and it feels like you are drinking  out of a fire hose, which inevitably ends up in you choking because you are not able to handle the strong  flow of details and tasks.

A couple of resources that have helped along the event promotion journey come from Author and  Speaker, Jon Acuff. Over the past couple years, Acuff has written a couple of books helping people re-imagine their identity and careers. Try this simple career audit to get started on the road to “awesome”. If you have a little more time on your hands and like a good book, try Start: Punch Fear in the Face, Escape Average, Do Work that Matters or Do Over: Rescue Monday, Reinvent Your Work, and Never Get Stuck, both written by Acuff. The change in mindset can come when you stop thinking about all of the things you do not do well, but rather focus on your talents and strengths.

It’s time to breathe a breath of fresh air into your life and your event, start!
